THE GERBOVETSKAYA COMMUNITY OF RED CROSS

The buildings of Medical-Sanitary Agency or, as the Russians say “lechsanupr”, lies in two blocks from the Museum of Art. Chekeruli-Kush was the author of rebuilding of several facilities in the corner of Vlaicu Pircalab Street and Veronica Micle Street. In 1905 the community of nurses of Gerbovetsky Monastery got land at this very address. The community destroyed all the previous buildings and erected at this place a beautiful one-storied mansion for the ambulance and hospital in 1907. [...]

The excursion is under way! To look at the beautiful building constructed by Chekeruli-Kush you have to go up Banulescu-Bodoni Street from Stefan eel Mare Boulevard till M. Kogalniceanu Street. In the corner you can see two-storied building of the Supreme Judicial Court of Moldova.

The architect Mihail Konstantinovichi Chekeruli-Kush was the author of the most beautiful buildings in Chisinau. Though, there is too little information about his personality. Libraries give only general information about his life and his creations. Anyway we tried hard to find more about him. For justice’s sake let’s make an excursion and speak about the heritage Chekeruli-Kush has left in the Moldovan capital.
